Why did I love this book?
I first read this book shortly after visiting Rome about twenty years ago. Dan Brown includes the major fountains of Rome, and you learn a little about what the artists were thinking of when they constructed these works of art. I toured the public side of the Vatican, but I hadn’t realized some of its history and power that Angels & Demons put into perspective. I read the book before the death of Pope John Paul and understood the process they would go through to elect a new pope thanks to the fictional story of Angels & Demons.

In a breathtaking race against time, Harvard professor Robert Langdon must decipher a labyrinthine trail of ancient symbols if he is to defeat those responsible - the Illuminati, a secret brotherhood presumed extinct for nearly four hundred years, reborn to continue their deadly vendetta against their most hated enemy, the Catholic Church.
